Katherine Gosnell is a visual artist in Providence, RI whose work explores the relationship between person and place, unpacking themes of new creation, longing, or childlike wonder. She depicts human figures in abstracted landscapes, implementing an iconography of plants, stars, or vivid bands of color to evoke the spiritual woven into the natural world.
For the past five years, Gosnell has specialized in community mural projects in South Providence for Trinity Square Together’s Care for the Square events and for Renaissance Church’s outdoor walls. These projects collaborated with local volunteers at paint parties to foster connection and brighten the neighborhood streets. She also contributed two utility box murals as part of The Ripples Project with The Avenue Concept in 2025. Gosnell’s mural experiences embody the exploration of person and place, bringing the viewer to think about one’s presence and impact in the local community.
